Bogomolets National Medical University Kyiv, Ukraine –

Bogomolets national medical university is a high medical school founded in 1841 in Kyiv, Ukraine. The university is named after physiologist Alexander A. Bogomolets.

Ivano-Frankivsk NMU provides excellent hostel accommodation for students coming from abroad. There are a total of six buildings with a capacity to accommodate 4000 students. The rooms are furnished with every modern amenity. The toilet is attached with each apartment and on each floor, there is a common hall as well as common kitchen. Kharkiv National Medical University –

Kharkiv National Medical University is quite an old university that provides highest medical education to students coming far and wide. Teaching Methodologies and Faculty of Kharkiv NMU

The faculty of Kharkiv NMU is highly qualified with several years of experience of teaching in related field. The students undergo both academic and practical training in main medical specialities. The teachers encourage students to take part in examinations of patients, giving urgent aid, work at X-ray rooms, clinical and biochemical laboratories. There are a total of 56 departments wherein the clinical and theoretical training is performed. At present, there are over 700 teachers working in different departments of medicine. The language of instruction is both English and Russian.

Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University –

Founded in 1784, Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University is 229 year old university in Ukraine. It is the biggest and oldest medical university in Ukraine and own 4th level of accreditation.

Duration of Courses

To become physician in medicine, you need to complete a strict 6 year curriculum. The degree will lead to Doctor of Medicine. The Doctor of Dentistry includes studying a 5 year learning curriculum. In order to gain the degree of doctorate in Pharmacy, one has to complete 5 years of studies.After completing bachelors, students are given opportunity to go for post graduate degree which ranges from 3-6 years.
The courses are conducted in English, Ukrainian and Russian medium of language.

Studying Conditions

Training of foreign students is conducted as per plans and syllabus of the university. After graduating, the foreign students receive degrees of international pattern certifying that they acquired the education of a definite qualification degree in accordance with educational system structure existing in Ukraine.

Sumy State Medical University –

Sumy State Medical University is located in Sumy city in the North-East of Ukraine. Its history began in 1948. Today, SSU is a leading university of a classical type with the III-IV accreditation level in the region.

Extracurricular Activities

36 kinds of sports and 75 sports groups are available at the University. Sports teams perform at the premier league level. Over 60 students are the record breakers and prize winners of the Olympic Games, World and European Championships.

Three SSU students were part of Ukrainian national team in the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London; and six SSU students participated in the XXII Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. They were awarded with gold medals in biathlon relay race, and bronze medals in boxing and biathlon sprint.

At the ХХVІІ World Winter Universiade Dmytro Rusynov won gold in the individual race, silver in the mass start and bronze in the mixed relay as the part of Ukrainian national team. At the ХХVІІІ World Summer Universiade three SSU students as part of Ukrainian national team won silver in volleyball. Bohdan Yadov and Tetiana Levytska won bronze medals in judo. At 2015 European Games Artem Khomula won bronze in judo.

According to results of Student Games and the Championships of Ukraine, SSU is in the TOP-3 universities among higher education institutions, and it occupies the high position among all universities in Ukraine.

Osh Medical University

The Medical Institute at the Osh Medical University was found in the year 1992 as the Osh State Pedagogical Institute was transformed into Osh State University. The university has the history of training medical students from different countries. Easy procedure of enrollment

Fee Structure

Students have to pay their fees, semester wise. It ranges from $800 to $1000 per semester. Only in the initial year i.e at the commencement of the course, students have to pay their tuition fee, hostel fee, administration fee, application fee and charges for pick up from the airport on arrival to the country. Food and hostel charges amount to $1000 per year.

Admission Process

Indian Students after completing their senior secondary examination are eligible to apply for the medical course in this country. A host of documents are required for seeking admission to these universities. Your secondary examination certificate and marksheet, official transcript from the high school, copy of birth certificate, copy of passport, recent passport size photographs, recent medical certificate proving that you are physically fit, a character certificate by police and a copy of your national identity card needs to be submitted.


Universities provide accommodation to their students. Hostels are equipped with internet service and other allied facilities. Each room has its individual heating system. The rooms are furnished. Generally, three students are allotted a room. These rooms are fully furnished and have attached bathroom with them. The hostels are guarded 24/7 by trained security personnel. There are separate hostels for girls and boys.


Owing to the country’s mountainous terrain, often the roads are risky and steep. For this reason, horses are used to reach the different locations. Transportation cost is not expensive. Few rail links are there to connect Kyrgyzstan with the neighboring countries. Food

In traditional Kyrgyz cuisine, beef, mutton, horse meat and dairy products are integral. Since the country is home to many ethnic communities, the cuisine also reflects those. The preparation procedures and ingredients are influenced by the nomadic lifestyle of the people of the country. Over the years, they have adapted to different cooking styles that help them in preserving food for a long period of time. Indian students can avail eggs, fish, and different vegetables in the canteens of the universities.


The climate of the country is continental in nature as it consists of hot summers and cold winters. There are some variations in the temperature depending on the altitude of the place. You can witness frost in all the provinces of the country. Temperature in the coldest areas of the country reaches much below zero degree in the winters. Even few of the deserts also experience snowfall during this time.

International School of Medicine

International School of Medicine is a part of the International University of Kyrgyzstan and is located in Bishkek, the capital city of the country. The medical school was established by the government of the country to train the doctors according to the international standards. It is one of the best institutes in the country, and the medium of instruction of the course is in English. The Medical School has the scope of conducting research in cooperation with the leading medical institutes across the world. The university aims at training medical professionals to treat the population in the Eurasian countries.

Different courses offered

The institute is licensed by the Ministry of Education of the country. It offers a course on General Medicine that has the duration of six years. After completion of the course, students are awarded M.D. that is at par with the MBBS degree conferred by the Indian medical universities and colleges. There is also a postgraduate course in medical science of three years. Students have the scope of specialization in various fields as gynecology, surgery, international medicine, pediatrics and other areas of medical sciences. Students can also opt for research-based programs that require the submission of the dissertations. On completion of the Ph.D, students are awarded Candidate of Medical Sciences degree and after completion of doctoral sciences, students are awarded the Doctor of medical sciences.

Worldwide recognition of the course

This university follows the standards set by the World Federation of Medical Education to determine the curriculum of the course. The Medical school also has collaboration with many of the reputed medical schools across the world. They also abide by the Bologna Process that gives an edge to the international students and gives them the scope of practicing in the EU countries after completion of the course. The courses offered are recognized by the World Health Organization and are accredited by the medical council of different countries. Recent innovations in the field of medical sciences are incorporated in the curriculum of the course that keeps students updated with the recent advancements. These reasons attract the international students to the medical universities of this country.

Requirement for admission

International students have to complete their secondary education that is at par with the education system of the country. It is mandatory for students to have a minimum of fifty percent in the secondary education. Students need to submit the mark sheet and certificates of the secondary examination for the bachelor’s degree course and certificates of the Bachelor’s degree for the postgraduate course. A copy of the passport, appropriate visa, application letter, letter from the university and medical certificates also needs to be submitted to the university. Apart from this, students need to submit proof of finances and copies of their recent photographs.

Fee structure of courses

Students have to pay the tuition fee at the initiation of the academic year. International students have to pay approximately US$ 2,200 per annum both for the course in General Medicine and the postgraduate course. Apart from this, they need to pay for their accommodation which is US $ 550 per annum in the first year, and from the second year onwards, the charges is US$ 450 per annum.

Tver State Medical University

Library and  Research

The Library of the Academy was founded in 1936. It contains over 440 thousand copies of Russia and foreign books.

In addition to this TSMA also maintains another library with approx. 2000 books in English Medium written by Indian and foreign writers. These books are the same which the Indian students read in the local Indian Medical Colleges.

Scientific research programmes are carried out at all Departments of the academy. The research programmes conducted at the academy have participated in six exhibitions conducted in relation to the National Economic Achievements, three of which were national. The Academy has been awarded four silver and two bronze medals. A gold medal was awarded for a combined research carried out by the Academy and the Tver State Technical University.


There are four hostels which can accommodate 1840 students.

Two of them are flat type i.e. with attached bathroom, toilet and kitchen.

The hostels are centrally heated (air-conditioned). Hostels are fully furnished.

The basic system is two or three students in one room. Students are provided with full beddings.

Separate arrangements for boys and girls. Every hostel has internet facilities (wi-fi and broadband). Students can get Indian food at the canteen of the hostel and foreign TV channels (Hindi, Tamil etc.) are also available. All the hostels are well guarded with police security. Bed linen is changed once in a week and hostel is cleaned once every day.

Students Life at TSMA

While the primary object of entering the University is to get a perfect education and training, time spent in the TSMA can provide priceless life experience. It can tremendously widen person`s mental horizon and glimpse of life, giving him essential superiority over his peers. It is important to mention that apart from academic studies in the TSMA attention is also paid to social and extracurricular activities.

The Indian student association celebrates Diwali, Holi, Baisakhi etc. Indian festivals every year & there is a holiday on that day in the academy. In sports there are International tournaments of Cricket, Football, Basketball, Badminton etc.

Kazan State Medical University

Kazan State Medical University is a multi functional and multi-leveled state institution of higher learning in medicine. It meets both personal and social needs in acquiring education in medicine, in developing biomedical and clinical sciences, as well as broadening scientific knowledge of medical sciences. Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) functions on the basis of self-governance and belongs to the system of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Ministry of Health of Russia. Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) is located in central part of Kazan.The University offers numerous services to facilitate the process of learning. For instance, the Kazan State Medical University has tie-ups with 54 medical institutions for imparting clinical training to the students of Medical Pediatric and Dental Faculties. Students get the opportunity to receive hands-on training at maternity houses, out-patients units, hospitals, and 20 polyclinics including dental and children’s.

Library and Research

KSMU — represents the leading scientific schools of Russia and the most relevant research studies. According to an independent rating agency “RateOR” in the field of education among all Russian universities’ scientific achievements rating only 3 of Universities of Kazan are in the top fifty and Kazan Medical University holds the second result after Kazan State University. Only five of the best medical universities of the country have been included in the rating, among them Kazan Medical University firmly holds the third place, after the Moscow Medical Academy in the name of I.M. Sechenov and after Russian State Medical University!Training of highly qualified specialists is conducted in 40 specialities in PhD-studentship and in 5 specialities of doctoral studies. International students may live in the students’ dorm or have an apartment or a room arranged for them by the University.But the living conditions are rather Spartan: two or three persons to a room, eight rooms on each floor, one kitchen, two toilets, shower in the basement. Students cannot select their rooms. The number of rooms is limited, and, therefore, early applications will be given priority. In addition, some students may be uncomfortable with the rather strict dormitory rules.Off-campus apartments Rent amounts depends on the location, size and condition of the apartment. As a rule, apartments offered for rent are supplied with furniture and basic household appliances (refrigerator, TV, telephone).

Student Life

Students can participate in year-round recreation, including football, tennis, basketball, swimming in summer, or skiing and skating in winter. The university encourages the broadest participation of its students in a wide variety of athletic programs. During holidays the students can relax in the camp “Medic” in the woods on the bank of the Volga river.
Kazan State Medical University offers its services to the students of all nationalities and religions. Student’s club is used for the different kinds of student’s activities. Our students participate in different festivals and have their newspaper “Kazan Medical Student”.

Volgograd State Medical University

The Volgograd State Medical University is one of the most famous and highly reputable Higher Schools both in Russia and abroad. It is proud of its highly-qualified teaching staff, advanced researchers and experienced physicians whose names are world-famousMany scientists of the University are world-famous owing to their great contribution to the theory and practice of medicine. Volgograd State University Library – one of the largest university libraries in the area. Its stock of around 700,000 titles , is of great scientific value and can provide high quality teaching and educational and scientific processes at the university. It offers students and 5 teachers of reading rooms for 418 seats. The pride of the University is the department of rare books, which collects pre-revolutionary publications, documents 20-30 of the twentieth century and contemporary books, representing artistic value. The University Library offers its readers the opportunity to use periodicals (over 500 titles), among which are very valuable reference journals and current bibliographies.The Volgograd State Medical University has given rise to a number of research and methodological schools and centres. They are the Volgograd Branch of the Russian Academy for Medical Sciences doing advanced research in the field of pharmacology, Research Institute of Rheumatology, the Regional Cardiology Centre, the Regional Urology Centre, etc.


Students in Volgograd either live in the university hostels or apartments. First year and pre-medical students are not allowed to live outside the hostels.There are 3 comfortable hostels including apartments with all modern conveniences for students’ study and rest. All the hostels are situated within easy reach from both University buildings and clinics.

Student Life

The University puts much emphasis on physical culture development and enhancing popularity of sports among students. Several gyms and sports grounds are available for University students. The University rents a swimming pool and a big stadium. Besides, it has a sports camp on a picturesque bank of the Volga where the students can rest and go in for sports at weekends and on summer holidays.The University encourages students to celebrate their national festivals. Spectacular performances with folk songs and dances which are part of such celebration are admired by both students and academic staff.The University staff is very respectful to religious traditions of our students. In the city there are a few Orthodox Churches, a Catholic Church, a Protestant Church, several Mosques and a Synagogue. That means that our international students have the opportunity to follow their own traditions and observe religious holidays.
